Using Chat GPT as an Excel Formula Reference GuideĬhat GPT can easily give you Excel Formulas and does a much better job explaining them than the prompt or formula wizard will do. It may be quicker to use Chat GPT to setup the formulas as part of a more extensive Excel template. It seems to get confused when inputting tabular text and numbers into the chat prompt unless you are incredibly specific. You can also use Chat GPT for Financial Valuation Ratios like the Sortino or Sharpe Ratio, and for reminding you of how-to setup formulas that are less common such as the Black Scholls formula for options valuation.Īs a test, we tried to feed specific financial information into Chat GPT to have it calculate the ratios for us, which it can do in limited instances. It quickly returns a description of a ratio that you are interested in and describes in detail how to calculate it. From a Current Ratio, Quick Ratio, Acid Test Ratio, Defensive Interval Ratio, to various cals for CCC, DSO, DIO, DPO, DSI, and various burn rates it can tough to keep track of them all.Ĭhat GPT is useful as a reference for financial ratio calculations. The sheer volume of ratios that people have come up with over the years can be daunting to keep in your head. How to Use Chat GPT for Financial Ratio Analysisįinancial ratios are the bread and butter of financial analysis. As an example, we asked Chat GPT to explain the accounting treatment for gains and losses arising from a cash flow hedge, the exact wording was copied and paste from a publicly traded firms 10-k.Ĭhat GPT can also be an excellent resource to summarize and re-word the notes or disclosure sections of a 10-K or 10-Q. As accountants for publicly traded companies get more creative, it can be difficult to keep up. Most analysts are going to be familiar with the primary lines of an income statement or balance sheet. At the direction of Satya Nadella, Microsoft has been aggressively integrating Chat GPT into most of their software. However, Microsoft recently invested over $10 Billion into OpenAI, the developers behind Chat GPT. The tool is only trained with data up until 2021. As a quick primer, you can use Chat GPT to summarize recent company history. There is a lot of contextual information that helps an analyst determine if the numbers that they are observing are telling the same story that management is. In an ideal world analysts would only have to cover industries that they are already familiar with. How to Use Chat GPT for Horizontal Analysis What Chat GPT can do is help an Analyst complete their daily job duties faster and with more context. Ītrus writes a new Age called Releeshahn for the D'ni survivors to rebuild their civilization as he and Catherine settle back on Earth, raising a daughter named Yeesha. Sirrus and Achenar are punished for their crimes by being imprisoned in separate Ages until they reform. Through the help of a Stranger, Atrus is freed and sends his benefactor to Riven to retrieve Catherine from the clutches of Gehn. When Atrus returns to investigate, the brothers strand him in a D'ni cavern before they themselves are trapped by special "prison" books. The brothers grow greedy, and, after plundering their father's Ages, they trap Catherine on Riven. Atrus and Catherine marry and have two children, Sirrus and Achenar. Atrus realizes that his father is reckless and power-hungry, and with the help of Ti'ana and a young woman, Catherine, Atrus traps Gehn on his Age of Riven with no linking books. Ti'ana also cares for Gehn's son, Atrus, until Gehn arrives to teach Atrus the Art. Ti'ana raises Gehn until he runs away as a teenager, learning the D'ni Art of writing descriptive books. Aitrus sacrifices himself to save his wife and child, killing A'Gaeris while Ti'ana and Gehn escape to the surface as the D'ni civilization falls. Soon after, D'ni is ravaged by a plague created by a man named A'Gaeris. Learning the D'ni language, Anna becomes known as Ti'ana and marries a D'ni named Aitrus the couple have a son named Gehn. The name Myst came from Jules Verne's novel The Mysterious Island. Drawing on childhood stories, the brothers spent months designing the Ages players would investigate. The brothers developed Myst after producing award-winning games for children. Over the course of the series, Atrus writes a new Age for the D'ni survivors to live on, and players of the games set the course the civilization will follow. The player takes the role of an unnamed person referred to as the Stranger and assists Atrus by traveling to other Ages and solving puzzles. This practice of creating linking books was developed by an ancient civilization known as the D'ni, whose society crumbled after being ravaged by disease. Myst 's story concerns an explorer named Atrus who has the ability to write books that serve as links to other worlds, known as Ages. A spinoff featuring a multiplayer component, Uru: Ages Beyond Myst, was released in 2003 and followed by two expansion packs. The first sequel to Myst, Riven, was released in 1997 and was followed by three more direct sequels: Myst III: Exile in 2001, Myst IV: Revelation in 2004, and Myst V: End of Ages in 2005. Does this engagement equal learning? It has potential. When she introduced fifth-graders to Inanimate Alice, though, students were transfixed (Topo 2015). This change brought about greater student engagement with the storytime material-but younger students were frightened by Skeleton Creek's ancillary videos. So, how did Fleming address this? In 2009 she thought outside the traditional book and engaged readers with the Skeleton Creek series that included embedded URLs augmenting the plot. Regardless of her preparation and attempts at engagement, the time came when the books she selected were no longer reaching students. Fleming felt like a comedian performing for students when speaking with Topo she said, "You have that go-to joke that always gets the crowd going," but her material was no longer capturing the audience's attention (2015). Each year it seemed students became less interested in her offerings. Would 21st-century students be able to connect with the book? For his 2015 Atlantic article about optimizing digital books for young readers, Greg Topo interviewed long-time school librarian Laura Fleming and noted the changing connection between students and books.Īs a practicing librarian with twelve years of experience Fleming spent time looking for engaging books for storytime with her students. With a history of success, why would we want to alter storytime by incorporating technology?Īs school librarians, we have all stood in front of a group to perform a storytime read aloud and wondered if it would successfully engage students. Reading aloud during storytime can connect the student audience to text through verbal and visual elements, piquing student interest and engagement (Keller 2012). At its best, storytime is much like a performance for students. Students are exposed to the parts of a story, genres, vocabulary, authors, and illustrators in a manner that keeps attention and interest. Storytime creates an environment where students are able to note the differences between the spoken and written word (Ross, McKechnie, and Rothbauer 2006). Our students who read and hear a variety of stories are more likely to become lifelong readers and perform better on tests and assignments (Krashen 2004. Through modeling from adult readers, storytime can affect literacy development and motivation to read. Storytime is a top strategy for developing skills that build to reading reading aloud to children should begin early in their lives and be present throughout the educational process (Anderson et al. Storytime is a fixture in many school libraries and is important in helping foster students' reading abilities. Many places that have adopted Indigenous Peoples Day since then, including Alaska, have sizable Native American populations.Ī few cities have compromised. Berkeley, California, got rid of Columbus Day in favor of Indigenous Peoples Day in 1992. South Dakota began celebrating Native American Day on the second Monday of October in 1990. Indigenous Peoples Day began to gel as an idea before the 500th anniversary of Columbus' first voyage to the Americas. "It was one of the things that would allow them to become Americans symbolically," said Fred Gardaphe, a professor of Italian-American studies at Queens College. Italian-American businessman and newspaper owner Generoso Pope was among those who worked to get Columbus Day recognized as a federal holiday in 1937. In 1891, 11 Italians were lynched in New Orleans by a mob that held them responsible for the death of a police official.Īt the end of the 1800s, Italians began to link themselves more with Columbus. Mayor Bill de Blasio, a Democrat, appointed a committee to evaluate whether monuments to certain historical figures should be removed, prompting a backlash from fellow Italian-Americans who vowed to defend the Columbus statue, which has stood over Columbus Circle for more than a century. The protesters, two dressed in fake chains and one wearing a hooded white sheet, spoke out before being escorted away. On Sunday, three demonstrators briefly interrupted a wreath-laying ceremony at the Columbus statue in Columbus Circle. In New York, where 35,000 people are expected to march in Monday's Columbus Day parade, vandals last month doused the hands of a Christopher Columbus statue in blood-red paint and scrawled the words "hate will not be tolerated." Activists calling for the city to change the parade's name also are expected to hold a demonstration. Italian Americans ride on a Columbus float while participating in the annual Columbus Day Parade Octoin New York City. In Akron, Ohio, a September vote over whether to dump Columbus opened a racial rift on the city council that was so heated conflict mediators were brought in to sooth tensions. The debate over Columbus' historical legacy is an old one, but it became emotionally charged after a similar debate in the South over monuments to Confederate generals flared into deadly violence in August at a rally in Charlottesville, Virginia. "If they're going to celebrate Columbus, we need to celebrate the fact that we survived Columbus." It's not about taking anything away from Italian-Americans, said Cliff Matias, cultural director of the Redhawk Native American Arts Council, which is hosting a Re-Thinking Columbus Day event Sunday and Monday in New York. And we're entitled to do that just as they are entitled to celebrate who they are." "Columbus Day is a day that we've chosen to celebrate who we are. "We had a very difficult time in this country for well over a hundred years," said Basil Russo, president of the Order Italian Sons and Daughters of America. It joined cities including San Francisco, Seattle and Denver, which had previously booted Columbus in favor of Indigenous Peoples Day.īut the gesture to recognize indigenous people rather than the man who opened the Americas to European domination also has prompted howls of outrage from some Italian-Americans, who say eliminating their festival of ethnic pride is culturally insensitive, too. A movement to abolish Columbus Day and replace it with Indigenous Peoples Day has gained momentum in some parts of the U.S., with Los Angeles in August becoming the biggest city yet to decide to stop honoring the Italian explorer and instead recognize victims of colonialism. 2/2/2024 0 Comments Astroneer auto extractorIt should be full long before you run out again. When you run out, just fly back, and swap the storage can for your empty one. A relatively small setup with an extractor, a smelter and some autoarms will be filling your storage with ready to use metal. And then use those extractors to mass produce iron, steel (as Glacio has Argon), titanium and ammonia. Once you set up a base on Glacio and built/brought a ChemLab and a Compressor there, you can make one. Used to be my point, but you can actually get extractors by the start of the mid game - the most expensive component is 2 Steel. and once the "auto extractor" running it would eventually ran out of things to extract so again what is the point of having that end-game thing when the player will have tons of resources well before that point. โพสต์ดั้งเดิมโดย DomDiaemus:I cannot see the point of those "auto extractors" since to a player needs a considerable resources to get to that point. The irony in this is that Project CHEER provided the button repeaters used for this hack. If they swing around too much, you can break connections, and then you have to re-attach. Once you've got a setup like this working, I think you need to be careful lifting/replacing the extractors. Can run the extractors at full power with only 4 RTGs. Now, they're operating at double the nominal rate, which should fill a large canister in 46 minutes. Branched the delay repeaters to all 4 extractors. I implemented this on a 4-extractor site. They still stop working nobody kows why, while there is a bunch of resource around to be harvested. This doesn´t mean you can quit checkig them often, actually you need to check them twice often. โพสต์ดั้งเดิมโดย plynox:HERE COMES A TIP: if you manage to turn ON and OFF Extractor every 0.9 seconds (duo delay repeater) it will spend much less energy and will work almost twice faster. If you leave the extractor area, might they behave differently when you’re not there? If extractors overlap closely on the deposit, can they interfere with each other? Extractors can be packaged for transport on a tier-3 slot. They do continue running when you go to another planet. Extractors only run while the game is running. The extractor can and usually will choose even one small patch of an undesired resource in a huge deposit. This can be labor intensive, so a mixed deposit may not be worth it. You may need to prepare a deposit by manually mining out the stuff you don’t want the extractor to mine. We cannot yet specify which resource to extract, and this can be a problem.A storage sensor on the extractor can save some power.
